Where the Problem Lies

Consuming animal product (e.g. meat, cheese, butter), one will encounter oxidized cholesterol. Meat cannot be held in a butcher case, cooked, canned or processed in any way without the cholesterol oxidizing. Milk cannot be pasteurized nor cheese allowed to age without forming oxidized cholesterol. Oxidized cholesterol and partially oxidized cholesterol can kill. Cholesterol is part of each muscle cell wall and is found in all animal fats. Leanness is not the issue. The highest cholesterol food listed in USDA Handbooks is turkey. It is just the nature of the beast that it contains more cholesterol in its cell membranes than most other animals.

How it works:

Plant sterols in Cholesterol Blocker protect the body against oxidized cholesterol. Beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol and campesterol plus lesser sterols cannot be absorbed by the human body, except in very small amounts (2 – 4%). In the intestine, they combine with dietary and secreted cholesterol (from liver bile) to form a new crystalline matrix which cannot be absorbed, and is later excreted in the faeces.

Plant sterols may also compete for cholesterol’s absorption sites along the intestinal wall. Once the plant sterol wedges itself into the site, it blocks the cholesterol from passing through the intestinal wall, and the sterol cannot be absorbed either: Similar to putting the wrong key into a keyhole - it may fit, but will not unlock the door.

"Cholesterol Blocker" works synergistically with aspirin, Vitamin E, omega-3 fish oils and fibrinolytic enzymes such as nattokinase enzyme to support cardiovascular health. Effective dosages of policosanol range from 10 to 40 mg. per day, and those of plant sterols range from 300 to 3,000 mg per day according to human clinical trials. Cholesterol Blocker offers an appropriate ratio of 10:500 mg - policosanol:plant sterols.

Federal FDA regulations maintain that, “Foods containing at least 0.65 grams [650 mg.] per serving of plant sterol esters, eaten twice a day with meals for a daily total intake of at least 1.3 grams, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease.” A serving of Cholesterol Blocker supplies 500 grams of plant sterols esters. One wafer at each of three daily meals would exceed minimum FDA guidelines.
